GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Shri Digamber Jain Higher Secondary School is a premier educational institution run by Shri Digambar Jain Samaj, a minority community with special privileges of Dimapur Town.

  • The course of instruction comprises of all branches of education as prescribed by the Government of Nagaland & Nagaland Board of School Education. Besides, greater emphasis is given to moral instructions.

  • The classes are run from Pre-Primary to Higher Secondary Level (Arts, Science & Commerce).

  • The aim of the Institution is to impart quality education by cultivating habits of piety, hard work, discipline, love for the century old traditions, culture and values of life to the children.

  • Hence particular attention is given to discipline and character formation by means religious and moral instructions.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

  • New Admission is given only to LKG. Other admissions, if any, will depend on the availability of seats and merit of the student.

  • Admission to LKG

    A child who have completed 3 and half years or above by January can be admitted to class LKG. Duly filled in Application Form should be submitted in the office with the following documents.

  • 2 copies of recently taken passport size photo.

  • 2 attested photo copies of the date of birth certificate issued by the competent authority.

  • Admission to Other classes (UKG to Class 8)

  • Two copies of recently taken Pass Port Photo.

  • Transfer Certificate and Pupil Cumulative Record (PCR) from the institution previously studied.

  • 2 attested photo copies of the Date of Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority.

  • Progress Report of the Last Examination Appeared.

  • Students coming from outside the state of Nagaland should submit the Original Mark Sheet and Transfer Certificate counter signed by the DEO of the area.

  • New pupils must be introduced by the parents/guardian, who will be responsible

FEES PAYMENT

  • Fees will be received only during office hours and shall be paid on or before 10th of every month. After 10th of every month, a late fine of Rs. 10/- will be imposed.

  • Pupils failing to pay fees for three consecutive months shall have their names struck off from the roll. They may, however, be re-admitted on clearing all arrears and fines if seats are available.

  • No School leaving certificate will be issued to students unless all the dues are paid in full.

  • Pupils failing to clear all dues will be debarred from sitting for examinations. Absence from examinations does not mean exemption from examination fees.

  • Parent or Guardian must pay the fees only to the Accountant or the person entrusted by the principal. No fees should be paid to the class teachers or any other staff of the school.

  • The school will not be responsible for loss of money by the student which is brought to the school for payment of fees.

  • A receipt should be obtained from the Accountant for the fees paid before leaving the counter. The fee receipt should be kept in safe custody for future references.

  • The Fee card must be produced at the time of payment of fees

UNIFORMS INFORMATION

  • It is compulsory for the students to come to the school in Uniform as specified below: The School Uniform (for class 1 to 10):

  • White Shirt (Boys & Girls)

  • Grey Pants (Boys)

  • Grey Pleated Skirt knee length (Girls)

  • School Tie

  • School Belt

  • White School Socks

  • White Canvas Shoe (Nursery to Class - VII)

  • Black Rexene Shoe (Class - VIII to XII)

  • Maroon Sweater/Blazer

  • Maroon Sweater with School Logo (Nursery to Class X)

  • Maroon Blazer with School Logo (Class XI-XII)

  • On Wednesdays and Saturdays students should wear the group colour T Shirt and White shoe.

  • Maroon Tie and Belt are compulsory for both Boys and Girls. These articles are supplied from the school on payment.

  • The uniform should be stitched as per the specification and requirement of the school uniform rules. Fashionable, tight fitting (Shirt & Long Pant) and short skirt are not allowed.

  • Students coming to school with wrong uniform will be sent back.

EXAMINATIONS

  • Pre Primary to Class 8 evaluations are done under CCE as per the SCERT Nagaland Guidelines. Class 9 to 12 two terminal examinations are conducted. In addition to this regular unit tests and class tests are conducted. There will be Board Examination under Nagaland Board of School Education at the end of the course for these classes.

  • Progress report will be sent to the parents after completion of Quarterly Evaluation/Unit Tests and Terminal Examinations. It should be signed by the parent and should be returned to the class teacher on the next day.

  • It is compulsory that one of the parents should report in the school to sign in the progress report after the quarterly/ terminal examinations. Students academic and non academic performance will be assessed throughout the year. Minimum 80% attendance is required to sit for the Terminal Examination.

  • Decision with regard to Examination result and promotion to the next higher class taken by the school authority would be final. There will be no re-considerations of results
